A year ago a number of experienced contemporary artists met on a ‘blind date’ at Chequer Mead to see if they were compatible. They quickly recognised in one another an irrepressible need to make art, as well as a loyalty to our beautiful, quirky and sometimes under-appreciated town and its surroundings. The group quickly established a core membership, meeting regularly to exchange ideas and support one another’s creative ventures.

‘We are Example’ launches the group to the public, showcasing the versatility of the artists in a wide range of media. Experience a selection of experimental and traditional printmaking, dynamic sculpture, evocative gestural painting, unsettling textiles and drawings in stitch.
